Before You Book...

Please be sure to read this page and my policies. Transparency is vital to the client and stylist relationship.

New clients,

I'm only accepting requests for creative color. I realize this isn't for everyone and that's okay! These are the services I truly love doing and that's how I want to spend my time behind the chair. If you are already a client of mine and eventually decide to go in a different direction with your hair, I of course will still be your hairstylist! However, if your requests ever go beyond my skillset, there are other hairstylists I can refer to you within and outside of Libre Hair Studio.

The Booking Process

I take your experience in my chair and investment in your service very seriously.

The book process is as follows:

1. Fill out the New Client Intake Form.

2. I will respond via text to number provided in the form and preconsult with you about your hair goals.

3. If there is no consultation appointment needed, I will send you the booking link and tell you how many hours to reserve for your session and you can choose the day that works best for you. If a consultation appointment is needed, I will send you the booking link to schedule at your convenience.

The Consultation

Before I begin any service, I do a mini consultation to be sure we're both on the right page. I will only require a separate in person consultation appointment if I need to perform a test strand on your hair. The test strand allows me to see how your previous color will react to the process and determine whether your hair can withstand the process or not. Clients are free to schedule a consultation at their own discretion as well if they would like.

If it is determined your hair can tolerate the coloring process, you will have 30 days to schedule the appointment. It is ideal to have your consultation less than 2 weeks before the intended time to be serviced to have an accurate understanding of your hairs chemistry at time of service.

Consultations are $100 for one hour.

Test Strands

These are a few examples of what test stands can look like. I foil a small strand (or a few, depending on the canvas and the goal) in the middle back of your hair.  This will determine if your hair can withstand the coloring process for what you want, or if we need to reevaluate the goal.

Test Strands

Result

Canvas: 50% virgin hair (bottom half had permanent color)

Goal: All over burgundy red

Final Verdict: the test strand with permanent color showed the bottom half of the hair was significantly darker than the top half. Therefore, either a full head lighten and deposit or balayage/highlights and deposit is the best strategy for an even look.

Canvas: 90% virgin hair (old color on the last few inches)

Goal: Purple Balayage

Final Verdict: Cut off ends with old color.

Test Strands

Canvas: Over processed hair and multiple layers of semi permanent color

Goal: Root to ends magenta

Final Verdict: Hair was too compromised for the goal. Client was advised to either wait or have hair cleansed out and assessed later.

No service was done.
